Meditation: The fastest way to reconnect with Source, your Higher Self
When I started meditating at age 19 I have no clue what I was doing nor what was happening. The only thing I knew is that the Peace, Love and Joy of meditation was the greatest experience I ever had in my life. Even more pleasurable than making love! Well, not really :-), it’s just another way, another dimension of pleasure. Still the Peace, Joy and Love I get from my meditation practices are way more lasting and fulfilling than making love…, and to balance both is the best!!! It’s the goal according to my experience.
I started practicing the most simple breathing technique: be aware on my breath, not controlling it. Just observe my inhaling and exhaling.Â
I also combined my meditation practices with yoga postures or asanas and energetization exercises. I learned all those meditation and exercises from Self Realization Fellowship, the organization that Paramahansa Yogananda founded in America in the early 1920’s.
After a year of twice a day practice, about 90 minutes each, I got one of the highest form of Pranayama meditation: the Kriya Yoga as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda.
The day I practiced my 14 Kriyas for the first time, I had so much energy that I skipped my lunch! Actually I had to skip lunch for a week!Â
Since then I have learned and practiced other powerful meditation techniques, pranayamas, visualizations, yoga and combinations of them.
The ones I like the most are:
- The Pause, being aware of the pause between breathings,
- The Micro Cosmic Orbit meditation, a very powerful Tao pranayama/visualization
- The IAM meditation from Amma, the Indian hugging saint. After practicing this meditation I feel very relaxed and energized! It’s wonderful!
- There is a very simple and powerful one, breathing slowly and exhaling to the same count, being aware of your breath, letting it flow and not controlling your breath.
- The Mer Ka Ba meditation from Drunvalo Melchizedek: outstanding!!!
Now, you might be wondering “Why Carlos practice so many meditation techniques?”
I just want to know the truth on everything I do and I know.
I know the importance of meditation and I like to teach people to feel the same Peace, Joy, Love, Protection and Guidance.
It’s wonderful to move through life knowing that you are Protected and Guided, always!

Harvard Unveils MRI Study Proving Meditation Literally Rebuilds The Brainâs Gray Matter In 8 Weeks
In a test study, subjects taking part in an 8-week program of mindfulness meditation showed results that astonished even the most experienced neuroscientists at Harvard University.  The study was led by a Harvard-affiliated team of researchers based at Massachusetts General Hospital, and the teamâs MRI scans documented for the very first time in medical history how meditation produced massive changes inside the brainâs gray matter.  âAlthough the practice of meditation is associated with a sense of peacefulness and physical relaxation, practitioners have long claimed that meditation also provides cognitive and psychological benefits that persist throughout the day,â says study senior author Sara Lazar of the MGH Psychiatric Neuroimaging Research Program and a Harvard Medical School instructor in psychology. âThis study demonstrates that changes in brain structure may underlie some of these reported improvements and that people are not just feeling better because they are spending time relaxing.â
Sue McGreevey of MGH writes: âPrevious studies from Lazarâs group and others found structural differences between the brains of experienced meditation practitioners and individuals with no history of meditation, observing thickening of the cerebral cortex in areas associated with attention and emotional integration. But those investigations could not document that those differences were actually produced by meditation.â Â Until now, that is. Â The participants spent an average of 27 minutes per day practicing mindfulness exercises, and this is all it took to stimulate a major increase in gray matter density in the hippocampus, the part of the brain associated with self-awareness, compassion, and introspection. Â McGreevey adds: âParticipant-reported reductions in stress also were correlated with decreased gray-matter density in the amygdala, which is known to play an important role in anxiety and stress. None of these changes were seen in the control group, indicating that they had not resulted merely from the passage of time.â
âIt is fascinating to see the brainâs plasticity and that, by practicing meditation, we can play an active role in changing the brain and can increase our well-being and quality of life,â says Britta Hölzel, first author of the paper and a research fellow at MGH and Giessen University in Germany.
