Meditation is the art to quiet our breath so the mind and heart stay quiet because we won’t go to the state where our mind is calm and where it doesn’t run our lives.
Meditation has been practically in all cultures, but originally came from the East in India, where they coined the term “Yoga,” which means communion with God. In this context, God is a higher power, it’s energy! God is everything and we are part of God. The yoga system has the goal to make us understand our divine nature, that we are one with god, with this energy.
There are four paths to the Yoga System called: Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and Jnana Yoga. Hatha Yoga, which is primarily taught in the West, are exercises to support the yoga paths. The highest form of yoga is Raja Yoga, in which you practice meditation, pranayamas, and learn how to move the energy up and down the chakras. The reasoning behind this is that you energize and cleanse the chakras from all the toxic energies that accumulate over the years, which eventually lead to emotional stress, trauma, and sickness.
